.kiran mahajan [ किरण महाजन ].

. cis male (he/they) . biromantic asexual .A Thavnairian-born Viera, Kiran cannot remember the mother and father who loved him, as he was quite young when he was separated from his family and sold-- a punishment upon his parents for tangling with the wrong end of the Hannish underworld. The boy grew up a slave to a noble in Radz-at-Han, working a debt that could never be paid back... until his recent timely escape on a ship bound for Eorzea.Kiran is rough around the edges and very distrustful, but underneath the constant scowling is a sarcastic and expressive personality. Despite surviving by violence and cunning, Kiran ultimately can't help but protect the less fortunate. He has a penchant for disobeying authority and jumping into trouble without a second thought, which is basically how the boy ended up as a runaway. One will find that he attracts interestingly suspicious company.Kiran is no stranger to the Hannish streets, getting by with his talent for pickpocketing, his charmingly boyish looks, and fixing all manner of mechanical weapons. Any job worth the gil is always guaranteed to be done swiftly and silently. However, expect him to be almost permanently tipsy and reeking of smoke when hired. Strangely, the Viera is supernaturally good at tracking people as well...

Note: Kiran is functionally mute. Though he does speak, he can only ever talk in a whisper. He typically uses broken sentences to lessen the amount of words he has to say. Too much speaking means Kiran loses his voice more often.

...Of sorts. Kiran is a newcomer to Eorzea, having never traveled to another region before. He won't admit it, but the boy is quite lost. It's obvious he's in the market for stable employment and a regular place to sleep, so maybe someone could provide such things by hiring him... Kiran can't speak or read well but he's adept with his hands, especially with a firearm. He'd (secretly) appreciate finding a support network. Bonus if it has familiar things from home.

.protection.

Yes, Kiran can protect you if needed (and given the right price), but really what he needs is protection for himself. He keeps his lips sealed on damn near everything but he's in hiding from something... or someone. A mysterious scarification tattoo hidden on the left side of his head serves as a potential clue to whatever organization(s) may have an interest in him.

.camaraderie.

Kiran has never known family, or real friends for that matter; most of his "friends" were competition to survive. So now that he's completely removed from his birth country, he could use someone-- an adventuring buddy, a boss, a true friend without strings attached, perhaps a father figure to replace his real one he never knew. For now, he has one dear friend to protect from both themselves and his past. And who knows? Maybe Kiran's real family is still out there...

During his time as a slave, he managed to meet all manner of folk in Radz-at-Han, especially once he began taking to the gangs there. If your character spent time on the streets, they may recognize him as that dashing thief who stole from you in the Hannish markets once, or perhaps as a face from a gang dispute over territory-- it's hard to forget those striking olive eyes, after all (they probably wronged you in some way). He may have also stolen a hamsa or two from the Radiant Host...

.rumors.

Are you a native Thavnairian, or someone who does business with the merchants of Radz-at-Han? Then you might have heard of the Chakravarti name-- a rich family that many Hannish folk know well. Foreign trade partners will be familiar with their prized cloth dyes and the vast wealth they've procured as a result. However, despite the quality of their product, more daring locals will tell you some unsavory rumors surrounding the Chakravarti. And a certain Viera might know these more intimately than most...
